STILL IN MINNESOTA!

Well, I am still in Minnesota with my Mom. I think it is going to be a long haul. She is pretty strong for a woman in the last stages of her life. This is the hard part, not sure when she will pass. She has good and bad days.  Thankfully, more good days. She is not happy, really wants to pass. My sister and I just try to occupy her time the best we can. 

I miss California so much! The weather here is finally warming up but it rains a lot. The trees are starting to get leaves and I know the lilacs will be in bloom in a few weeks. 

This weekend, Mother's Day, May 10 & 11, is the Annual Art Glass Patio Sale and Show at Spanish Village in Balboa Park. I always enjoyed this show. But this time I am passing. If you are in San Diego, be sure to stop by the show and support my fellow artists. There will be another one in October if you miss this one. It is a great show. The largest art glass show in Southern California! Over 30 glass artists with all sorts of glass objects. Beads too! The hours are 10 to 5 each day. For more info: www.agasc.org

I have put some of my new heart designs in the Art Glass Guild, Studio 25, Spanish Village, Balboa Park. So, if you are at the show or out for a day, be sure to stop by and check them out. I made some cute "heart" earrings too!

The next show is the San Diego Bead Bazaar Aug. 2 & 3 at the Scottish Rite in Mission Valley. I plan to come home for this show.

Where the heck is Jan????  She hasn't updated her site for months!!!!

I am not sure where to start. It has been such a long time.

You may remember that my Mom is 97 and is in a nursing home in Minnesota. She is getting more and more fragile and wants family around her. She is having panic attacks. She is worried about dying and wants to die. I have been going back and forth to be with her.  When I am home I am preoccupied thinking of her. I guess I have been depressed. 

I have made some beads as it is great therapy. I really got into making hearts. All sizes and colors.  Here is a photo of some necklaces I made. 

I've also made smaller hearts that I am planning on making into earrings.  I don't have any photos of them yet but will post when I get them done. 

I am in Minnesota right now and will be here till the first of April.  Can you believe it? I am wintering in Minnesota! My sister is in Florida for a month so I am here.  I did bring jewelry supplies with the intention of working on making new pieces. I haven't gotten to any of that yet as I am spending most of the day with my Mom.  I feel really good being with her. 

Take care everyone! I have a bead bazaar April 28th in LA, then the Art Glass Patio Sale in San Diego May 10th & 11th, and "Dress for Success" benefit May 17th in Talmadge area of San Diego.
