The Process of Making Lampwork Beads
Lampwork beads are made by melting glass over a very hot flame and winding the glass on a stainless steel mandrel. The size of the bead hole is dependant on the size of the mandrel used. Several layers of glass are used to decorate a bead. The bead is then put in a kiln for annealing. This process is to make the bead strong and durable. All of my beads are kiln annealed overnight; they go straight from the flame to the hot kiln.
