Some form of art and crafts has always been a part of my life. Pottery, photography, ceramics, decorative painting, silk painting, jewelry design or lampworking. For most of my life, my career centered on business rather than art, as I didn’t think I could make a living creating art. A few years ago, I was given the opportunity to turn my focus to what I love, art and crafts. Specifically, jewelry design and lampworking.  I had started taking jewelry classes and discovered lampworked glass beads. I loved the colors of the glass and the unusual shape possibilities.  I had to find out more about making beads! I was soon enrolled in a bead making class. After turning on the torch that first night I was hooked! I quickly learned that it takes a lot of time and patience to master the art of bead making. When I realized how many beads I had surrounded myself with, Pepper Tree Designs was born.

I am very fortunate to live and work in the wonderful climate of Southern California. 25 California Pepper Trees surround my studio. They are graceful and always green. (My favorite color!) In the spring, the trees get small blossoms that turn into red pepper berries later in the year.  From my studio I can watch finches, doves, and hummingbirds fly around the trees while I make beads or create jewelry.  It is so peaceful and tranquil! This is truly the best time of my life.
