Hello and greetings from San Diego! Thanks for stopping by my website. My name is Jan Petek. I am a lampwork glass bead artist. Working with glass and flame is a wonderful creative outlet in my life. In addition to my glass beads, I also design wire jewelry using sterling silver, lampwork glass beads, Swarovski™ crystals, and Hill Tribe silver beads. I use sterling silver wire to make wire wrapped jewelry that includes bracelets, bangles, pendants, and earrings and more. My designs are one-of-a-kind, but I may be able to make something similar, so just ask!
On the left are links to see jewelry and beads. I make strands of glass beads, focal beads and earring bead pairs. Click here to see the current offerings of beads.

I update the What's New page about once a week so check it out!
Lampwork beads are made by melting glass over a very hot flame and winding the glass on a stainless steel mandrel. The size of the bead hole is dependent on the size of the mandrel used. Several layers of glass are used to decorate a bead. The bead is then put in a kiln for annealing. This process makes the bead strong and durable. All of my beads are kiln annealed overnight; they go straight from the flame to the hot kiln.
